New Orleans Refuge Church

The New Orleans Refuge Church's main purpose is to fulfill The Great Commission as outlined in Matthew 28:16-20.

"16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Fulfilling that all through these steps.

  1. Discipleship- Growing believers threw set curriculum and life based learning
  2. Community- Growing together as a body through fellowship with other believers
  3. Evangelism- Advancing the gospel through lifestyle and purposeful interactions
  4. Gatherings- Worshiping God through song and learning through the teachings of Scripture
  5. Missions- Having purposeful opportunities to serve the Lord in local, national, and global settings
  6. Service- By portraying the gospel by serving our community in projects and other means

Here to be a light in a world that darkness covers. Believing in the call to be a church that loves God, loves people, and loves truth. A neighborhood-focused church. Believing that living a life on mission starts with reaching out to our neighbors in the Bywater and Marigny.  Through this lens they are prepared to break cultural, political, and any other boundaries with love and a biblical view that draws convictions and understanding through Scripture. God has called us to proclaim his Word to the nations, and that is done at Refuge Church.
